Janet Warrington, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President of Research and Development
“Just imagine how our understanding of life will change once ALL scientists have access to the tools to accurately characterize any molecule of DNA quickly and cost-effectively.”
Dr. Warrington has more than 25 years of experience in biotechnology devices and diagnostics R&D. She began her scientific career at Affymetrix where she led development efforts focused on laying the foundation for genomics in the clinical laboratory. She led the first biotech consortium for the development of a genomics standard reference material, SRM 2374, and in partnership with Roche Molecular Systems, was the lead scientist for the first FDA cleared microarray system. In 2009, she co-founded Second Genome Inc., and in 2014 Janet joined Wei, Glenn, and the Centrillion team to build cutting-edge genomics technologies.
During her career, Dr. Warrington has been awarded over $75 million in public and private funding, holds several patents, and has published more than 60 scientific papers and book chapters. She serves as an advisor to Cernostics, Second Genome, and the Bioengineering Department, Santa Clara University. Dr. Warrington earned her PhD in Biological Chemistry from UC Irvine and was a Department of Energy supported postdoctoral scholar in genetics at Stanford University.
